(October 06, 1999 - May 08, 2000) This is the
first version
of Holdener.com which I began developing as soon as I found out I was going to be getting the
domain name Holdener.com as a Christmas present.
(May 08, 2000 - April 11, 2001) This is the
second version
of Holdener.com. I felt that the site needed an updated look that was faster loading, so I
axed most of the graphics for this site. I still think it was simple and functional.
(April 11, 2001 - October 07, 2001) This is the
third version
of Holdener.com. I went back to more graphics here, but I liked the look. It was modeled after
the website for the Masters Golf Championship that was in existance at the time, and for the
first time, a database was in use.
(October 07, 2001 - September 17, 2002) This is the
fourth version
of Holdener.com. Tried to go a little simpler again, but still retain some graphics with this
version. It was modeled after a site I had found for the city of Vancouver.
(September 17, 2002 - December 5, 2005) This is the
fifth version
of Holdener.com. This version of the site is pretty much graphics free, and had some nice new features,
like the user's choice of theme and font size for the site. It was modeled after the website
BrainJar.com. This site lasted quite a while, and was fully functional (it had everything I wanted
actually up and running).
(December 05, 2005 - May 10, 2006) This is the
sixth version of Holdener.com. I created this look based on
a Content Management System called Plone. I really redid the site to try out some new technologies
I had been working on with PHP and AJAX, and because I no longer wanted to rely on other people's
code where I could help it.
(May 10, 2006 - October 31, 2008) This is the
seventh version of Holdener.com. Again, I borrowed the
look of the site based on a design I found while searching around (I no longer remember where I found it).
This site kept the functionality (for the most part), but I stopped working on the site for a while as
I instead concentrated on writing my first book.
(October 31, 2008 - Present) The version of the site you are using now is the eigth incarnation of
the site, though I had done two other redesigns that never saw production. Instead of redesign, I am now
focused on making this site content heavy...I hope this lasts...
